BIOGRAPHY

Wei Zhao received her BEng degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University in 1989, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. She received her M.Sc. degree in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto in 1993, and Ph.D. degree from the same department in 1997. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her research work in the past has focused on the investigation of amorphous selenium flat-panel detectors for radiography and fluoroscopy. She has also worked on the development of cesium iodide based flat-panel detectors for medical imaging. Her recent research interest focuses on the investigation of imaging performance and design optimization for amorphous selenium flat-panel detectors for digital mammography and digital tomosynthesis.
