Jason Karelis, recent graduate of Ward Melville HS, who has been doing summer research in Peter Tonge's lab has won a $25,000 award for second place in a National Competition.

1/18/2008-

Elizabeth Min, a high school student from Stuyvesant HS, NY, is a semi-finalist in the Intel competition. Elizabeth's summer project was entitled "Synthesis of a slow, tight binding inhibitor of InhA from Mycobacterium tuberculosis".

1/15/2008-

Leeza Gegina, an undergraduate in the lab, gave a presentation at Bristol Myers Squibb as part of her Summer Undergraduate Fellowship.

8/20/2007-

Nicole Kruh has taken a postdoctoral position at Colorado State University.

Nicole Kruh has been asked to give a short talk at the Tuberculosis Keystone Conference in Vancouver, CA.

Salma Rafi has won a Chemical Computing Group award to attend the Spring 2007 ACS meeting in Chicago.

Laura Sisti has joined the group as Peter Tonge's Assistant.

8/31/2006 -

Todd Sullivan will be leaving the lab to take up a post doctoral position with Dr. Karen S . Anderson at Yale. We would like to congraduate Todd and wish him the best in this new exciting oppurtunity.

8/15/2006 -

Peter Tonge has been awarded a UO1grant by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease to develop compounds for treating MDR-TB. 

7/30/2006 -

Dr. Peter Tonge will Chair the 2006 Bioorganic Chemistry Gordon Research Conference from July 30 - August 4, 2006 at Magdalen College at Oxford, UK. This is the first Bioorganic Chemistry Gordon Research Conference to be held outside the United States.

5/20/2006 -

Chris Stratton, an undergrduate who has been in our lab for two years, has been accepted into Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan-Kettering tri-instituitional program in Chemical Biology. He will be starting his lab rotations this summer.

Patty Cheung who is another undergraduate in our laboratory has been accepted into the Pharmacology graduate program at Weill Cornell.
