MAPS
Maps are large JPG files of 600-900 Kb for printing. They will be
too large to view in your browser. Save them and take them into
a graphics program. Printed at 200 dpi (dots/inch),
they should produce a reasonably sharp print of 7.5 x 10 inches or so.
Boundaries
shown here are only approximate. Click on a letter here (not on the

A. The BLUE map is a piece of this historical map, from the 1690s. Even for
the standards of the time, the spellings are seriously awry in places.
B, C, D, E, F, G. The
RED maps are photos of the 1973 Ordnance Survey 1:50000 Dorchester-Weymouth
sheet. Villages and farms of Jesty interest are highlighted in yellow. The
OS grid is shown (faint blue), with major grid markers included. The scale
varies a bit: the OS grid squares are 1 x 1 km.
