Supervises staff of the Reference Department, including staff of the Information Desk, Video and Microform Services Unit. Coordinates reference service activities with other units of the Library and University. Plan and develop reference operations and new services and information products, and continuously develop library staff.

Develops and manages collection development in French, Comparative Studies, Philosophy, French & Russian History, Russian & Slavic Studies. Serves as faculty liaison in these areas. Provides reference service. Trains and supervises graduate students working at the Reference Desk. Provides library instruction as needed by the department.
