AFFILIATED FACULTY APPOINTMENT IN PHILOSOPHY

Approved by the Philosophy Department Faculty: April 3rd, 2002

Individuals appointed to the Stony Brook University faculty, but not to the Philosophy Department may become affiliated members of the Department. Affiliation will normally reflect a commitment to the work of the Department or one of its components but will not include the right to vote in Departmental elections or in matters of Promotion and Tenure. Affiliates may serve as outside members of doctoral dissertation committees, but they will not be eligible to serve as inside members. Affiliated Faculty members in Philosophy will be listed in departmental advertising, but affiliation does not carry a title of designation in Philosophy.
