On Tuesday November 8, 2011, you have to submit a small assignment that requires using some of the concepts we have covered in class in the last couple of weeks. The idea is for you to analyze the distribution of Population and GDP of U.S. States. You need to compute the mean, median, and standard deviation of each of these variables, and also compute the correlation coefficient. The formulae to make these calculations are covered in the lecture notes but you can also use Excel. I would also like to see a plot of the distribution of these two variables.
