The Panther
His
gaze, from passing endless bars
is so exhausted, that it holds nothing more.
For him, it is as if there were thousand bars
and beyond the thousand bars no world.
The soft course of powerful steps which round and enter,
the tightest circuit of their turning drill,
is like a dance of strength around a center,
in which benumbed stands a mighty will.
Only
sometimes, without a sound, do the covers
of the eyes slide open —. An image enters then,
it goes through the tensed silence of the members—
and it continues to the heart, to end.
