02/2006 (updated 07/07) This online tutorial is a component of Stony Brook University Health Sciences Library Sciences and Research Awareness Series (SARAS) instructional session on blogs and wikis. It was designed by Darren Chase on both Macintosh OSX and Windows XP platforms using CSS, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash.

Objectives of this session:

understand the characteristics and features of blogs & wikis
search blog content using Web-based search filters like blogdigger and feedster
discover free resources to create your own blog
learn how to contribute to a wiki
use bloglines, Google Reader or other search engine/ aggregators to create your own syndicated feed subscriptions
