Insights from Political Science on Political Issues

I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Stony Brook University. Starting July 2009, I will be an Assistant Professor of Political Science at George Washington University. My research and teaching interests center on American politics, judicial politics, and political methodology. The subjects of my research include judicial decision making, the Supreme Court, inter-branch interactions; judicial appointment politics; public opinion, political behavior, political psychology, and the nexus between institutions and public opinion; and legislative politics. In political methodology, I am particularly interested in multilevel (hierarchical) modeling, event history (duration) modeling, models for panel and time-series cross-sectional data, Bayesian data analysis, structural equation modeling, and experimental methods. See my “Research” page for more about my current research and research in progress.

I teach undergraduate courses in judicial politics and constitutional law, and graduate courses in judicial politics and political methodology.
