Research Interests
For the past year and a half I have volunteered in the Suits' group working on the DC slicing project. Currently I have moved to the Sampson group where I am doing proteomics; specifically trying to determine where in the alpha-9 (a mouse egg binding protein) intergrin's X-ray crystall structure fertillin-beta (a membrane bound sperm protein) is binding. Better understanding of this pre-fertilization protein interaction could lead to a new class of contraceptives.
At the moment I am in the final year of completing my B.S. in Pharmacology. In the Fall of 03' I will be attending Manchester University in the UK before returning to the states to finish my degree. I have aspirations to do research at the academic level.
